Green Hills is one of the most established areas in Nashville. It is nestled between Belle Meade, Forest Hills, Oak Hill and Historic West End. In recent years there has been a huge move to tear down some of the older ranch homes that where established in the 60’s and replace them with very large homes. This has changed the architectural landscape that varies from 60’s ranch style houses to Cape Cods to grandiose new construction. Though there are some older homes left that investors might consider replacing, they are far and few between.
Because Green Hills is located in such a central place between all these prestigious neighborhoods, it has become the location for high fashion and up scale shopping. There is a very unique walking mall that has been recently added that adds a European feel to the already bustling Mall at Green Hills shopping district. You can get organic food to clothes and furniture then catch a movie or a night out at the historic Bluebird Café.
Thanks to the presence of Lipscomb University, Vanderbilt University, and Belmont University, much of the Green Hills area has taken on the atmosphere of a college town. And like any college town you will have a variety of people, ages, dogs and social status, which is a wonderful environment to live in and among. As one of my close friends has said, “I could get used to living here.”
